Blue Server

Overview

AFP and IPDS to PCL, PostScript and PDF

The Blue Server for AIX is a software print server that handles IPDS and AFPDS data streams. It has been designed for both decentralized and production environments.

The Blue Server converts host print data to either PCL, PostScript 2 & 3, TIFF, BMP or PPML. In addition to printing facilities, The Blue Server has genuine document management capabilities. It also provides enhanced PDF output, with security options, for printing, document archiving or distribution. Moreover, it enables fax and e-mail output directly from the host.

Running on AIX servers, it connects to multiple IBM host and midrange systems and provides a method to receive host print data (AFPDS and IPDS) via TCP/IP sockets.

Thanks to an user-friendly Java interface, The Blue Server is easy to set up and manage. It is the perfect solution to address the needs of heterogeneous printing environments.
