How do I configure the Bluetooth Printer Adapter?
Use our optional Bluetooth Configuration Wizard to configure the Bluetooth Printer Adapter. The wizard is only needed if you want to:
- Modify the User Friendly Name
- Enter and enable PIN code (and thus encryption)
- Select the language in which vCards and vCalendar should be printed

- You can download the wizard from our web site
Start the Bluetooth Configuration Wizard
- On the Start menu click Programs, MPI Tech Bluetooth Configuration Wizard.
Using the Bluetooth Configuration Wizard
The Bluetooth Configuration Wizard guides you through the configuration steps as shown below:





The instructions below are only for users of the Compaq Bluetooth Multiport Module , the IBM Bluetooth UltraPort Module, the Acer Bluetooth Mini USB Adapter and other Bluetooth USB devices using 'My Bluetooth Places'.
Note: To find the version of the My Bluetooth Places press: Help -> About My Bluetooth Places in the Menu bar of My Bluetooth Places.
Microsoft Windows XP SP2 built-in Bluetooth feature
- Follow the instructions above for the Bluetooth Configuration Wizard
- When requested to Drag and Drop me drag the file to the desktop
- Right-click on your Bluetooth Icon in the Windows Tool Bar ( lower right corner of your desktop ) and select the Send a File option
- Follow the Send a File instructions. Note: As you have NOT yet assigned any Pincode/ passkey this should be turned off while doing so
- Having received the file the Bluetooth Printer Adapter will reboot and the PASSKEY has been assigned
- The first time you launch a print job you will be prompted to insert the new passkey. After that it will be remembered by the Windows XP Bluetooth software
My Bluetooth Places version 1.3.2.7
- Follow the above instructions for the Bluetooth Configuration Wizard
- When requested to Drag and Drop me drag the file to the desktop.
- Open the Bluetooth Places.
- Discover the Bluetooth devices by Search for devices in range.
- Select the xxx, Bluetooth Printer Adapter and select Bluetooth Setup Wizard.
- Press Skip Pairing and select Object Push and press Configure.
- Be sure that Secure Connection is NOT enabled. Press OK and Finish.
- View available services for the Bluetooth Printer Adapter (Configuration Mode) by selecting the device and click Bluetooth and select Discover Available Services.
- Drag the Drag and Drop Me file unto the Object Push on xxx Bluetooth Printer Adapter and release it. The configuration file is then sent to the Bluetooth Printer Adapter.
My Bluetooth Places - all versions different from version 1.3.2.7
- Follow the above instructions for the Bluetooth Configuration Wizard
- When requested to Drag and Drop me drag the file to the desktop.
- Rename 'Drag and Drop me.bpacfg' to 'Drag and Drop me.vnt'.
- Place the MPITech Bluetooth Printer Adapter in Configuration Mode by applying power while the test button is pressed (as described).
- Open the Bluetooth Places.
- Discover the Bluetooth devices by Search for devices in range.
- View services for the Bluetooth Printer Adapter (Firmware Upgrade Mode) by right-click on the device and select Discover Available Services.
- Rigth-click on the InBox and select Sent Note and select the file 'Drag and Drop Me.vnt' ( from step 3 above ) and sent it to the Bluetooth Printer Adapter
