How to print with the BlueFritz! USB Bluetooth adapter
Part 1: Preparation
- Power on the Bluetooth Printer Adapter and the printer to which it is connected. Please refer to the Quick Guide that was supplied together with your Bluetooth Printer Adapter
- Power on your computer with the BlueFritz USB adapter and software installed
Note: Be sure that the Bluefritz firmware is Build: 02.12.15 or later
Part 2: Record the COM port
Printing with the BlueFritz is performed using a COM port. Please follow the instruction below to obtain details about the BlueFritz COM port
- On the Start menu click Settings -> Control Panel
- Click System -> Hardware -> Device Manager
- Double Click on Port (COM & LPT)
- Record the COM port number 'x' in the AVM Bluetooth Serial Port (COM 'x')
Part 3: Add printer
The steps below vary slightly depending on your version of Windows. Please refer to your Windows documentation.
- On the Start menu click Settings, Printers
- Click Add Printer. Click Next
- Select Local Printer and no Automatically detect and install... . Click Next
- In Use the following port select the COM 'x' port recorded in Part 2. Click Next
- Select the printer to install from the lists of Manufacturer's and Printers or select Have Disk (or downloaded the files from the manufacturer's web site). Click Next
- Enter Printer name and select the printer as default. Click Next
- Select No to print a test page. Click Next -> Finish
Part 4: Bluetooth Connection establishment and Printing
Before printing you need to establish connection to the MPI Tech Bluetooth Printer Adapter.
- Start the BlueFritz! software program
- Select the Access Point tab and search for new access points by pressing the 'Neuen Access Point einrichten' button
- When the 'xxxx, Bluetooth Printer Adapter' is found double click on it
- In the field Bluetooth Kennwort type <Space> and then click OK
- Open any Windows program and print to the printer you created above
Note: If another Bluetooth device needs to print to the MPI Tech Bluetooth Printer Adapter then it is necessary to make a Bluetooth Disconnect between the BlueFritz! and the printer adapter.
