How to print with Mac OS X
A Mac OS X Bluetooth printing workarond for PostScript printers
Note: To print using this workaround you need a Bluetooth adapter connected to your Mac computer and Bluetooth turned on.
Part 1: Turn Bluetooth on
If you do not have a Bluetooth icon ( ) in the upper right corner of the menu bar do this
- Click the Apple menu
- Click System Preferences...
- In the System Preferences dialogue under Hardware click Bluetooth
- In the Bluetooth dialogue if Bluetooth Power is Off, click the Turn Bluetooth On button
- Check the Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar
- Exit the Bluetooth dialogue
If you do have a Bluetooth icon in the menu bar do this
- Click the Bluetooth icon in the upper right corner of the menu bar
- Click Turn Bluetooth On
Part 2: Make a PostScript file
- Open the document or file you would like to print
- Click File
- Click Print
- In the Print dialogue select your PostScript printer from the Printer rolldown menu
- Select Output Options from the third rolldown menu from above
- Check Save As File
- Select PostScript from Format rolldown menu
- Click Save...
- In the Save dialogue name your PostScript file and select a location for it
- Click Save
Part 3: Send the PostScript file to your Bluetooth Printer Adapter
- Click the Bluetooth icon in the upper right corner of the menu bar
- Click Send File...
- In the Select File to Send dialogue find and select your PostScript file
- Click Send File
- In the Send File dialogue select the PostScript printer with your Bluetooth Printer Adapter. If it is not in the list click Search to find it
- Click Send
- When a pop-up with the title 'Bluetooth File Exchange' and a message saying your target device will not accept your file appears click OK to send the file anyway
