How to print with Bluetooth PC features using My Bluetooth Places

How to print via My Bluetooth Places

Note: Before printing, make sure that Bluetooth Feature is installed and properly functioning. To locate instructions for installing the Bluetooth Feature, please see one of the following references;

  • The documentation that came with your Bluetooth Feature
  • The manufacturer's web site or customer support

Part 1: Preparation

  1. Power on the Bluetooth Printer Adapter and the printer to which it is connected. Please refer to the Quick Guide that was supplied together with your Bluetooth Printer Adapter.
  2. Power on your computer with the Bluetooth PC card and software installed.

Part 2: Record the COM port number

  1. Start the My Bluetooth Places on your computer
  2. Double click Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood
  3. On the Bluetooth menu, click Search for devices
  4. Wait until the search has finished
  5. Double click 'xxx, Bluetooth Printer Adapter'
  6. Double click 'Serial print' and record the COM port number from the dialogue box

Part 3: Add printer

The steps below varies slightly depending on your version of Windows. Please refer to your Windows documentation.

  1. On the Start menu click Settings, Printers
  2. Click Add Printer. Click Next
  3. Select Local Printer. Click Next
  4. Click Have Disk to install the files from the printer manufacturer's installation disk (or downloaded the files from the manufacturer's web site). Click Next
  5. Select the COM port with the number you recorded in part 2, step 6 and click Next. If the COM port is not listed, then restart the computer and add the printer again
  6. Enter Printer name and select the printer as default. Click Next
  7. Select Do not share this printer. Click Next
  8. Answer No to print the Windows test page. Click Next
  9. Click Finish

Part 4: Print

  1. Open any Windows program and print to the printer you created in part 3
  2. Collect your printout in the printer. For additional printouts you need only repeat part 4
