Quick Guide
Pre-installation task
- Check that the red TEST switch on the rear panel of the protocol converter is away from T, A, and B position. The white marker on the switch indicates the current setting.
- If you want to change the printer driver from PCL (default) to FSL then follow the instructions in the section Changing the Printer Driver in the Operator's Guide.
Installation
- Make sure no power cord is connected to the protocol converter.
- Power off your printer. Connect the printer's parallel cable to the protocol converter's PARALLEL OUT port and
secure the cable using the two mounting bails.
- Power on printer.
- Connect power supply, turning on the protocol converter. The green LEDs for CU and READY on the front of the protocol converter should light.
Generate settings printout
- Record the current position of the red TEST switch on the rear panel of the protocol converter.
- Turn the switch to position T (TEST) and back to the original position when the printer has started printing.
Connect to host
- Power off printer and protocol converter.
- Connect the protocol converter to the host system with the Coax cable.
- Power on printer and protocol converter. The green LEDs for CU on the front of the protocol converter should light.
