Quick Guide

Pre-installation task

1. Ensure that the printer's language is set to PCL. Use the [SETUP MENU] on the printer's control panel.

Install interface in printer

Refer to How to Install an ISP Interface.

Configure protocol converter using printer's control panel

Refer to your printer's manual on how to operate the control panel.

1. Power on printer.
2. For optimal performance we recommend that you set the following:

   [NETWORK MENU] => [NETWORK OPTION #] =>

   [PCL SmartSwitch = Off]

   [PS SmartSwitch = Off]

   [Network Buffer = 60K]

The '#' is the number (1-3) of the socket holding the protocol converter.

Generate settings printout

1. Power on printer.
2. Press the TEST button on the protocol converter to get a settings printout.

Connect to host

1. Power off printer.
2. Connect Coax cable to the protocol converter.
3. Power on printer. The green LED for CU on the back of the protocol converter should light.
