Plug-in IBM AFP/IPDS emulation for HP LaserJet printers

The IPDS DIMM brings IBM AFP/IPDS native emulation to your existing LAN attached HP LaserJet printers. Henceforth, your HP LaserJet printers will be able to print usual PCL/PostScript output but also IBM IPDS data streams directly from S/390, OS/400 or AIX systems. The MPI Tech IPDS DIMM handles the translation from IPDS to a language understood by the printer.

The IPDS module can receive Host output over TCP/IP network. For SNA networks, a SNA Gateway (Microsoft SNA Server or Novell Netware for SAA) is necessary at server level. For Coax and Twinax connectivity, an MPI Tech HostCom™ EIO interface is required to ensure connectivity.

Installation is made as easy as possible. Simply plug-in the IPDS DIMM and power up the printer. The IPDS DIMM is automatically discovered as a personality module and is ready for use. If any changes are required to the default configuration, these are easily changed via the printers front panel or using a standard web browser.

The IPDS DIMM make all installed features and options available to the Host system, thus taking full advantage of the printer's capabilities.
