FAQ
Why do all the IPDS print job from the Mainframe or the AS/400 end in the standard face down Bin (Top Bin on HP9000 printer) and not in the HP3000 stacker Bin connected to the HP9000?
First you have to make sure that the "Stacker Bin 2" is selected as paper destination on the HP9000 printer. On the HP9000 printers control panel you select the "Configure Device" Menu, select "Paper Destination" and set "Paper Destination = Bin 2".
Then you have to set the LinkCom III EIO to select the HP3000 stacker as default output Bin. Using PrintGuide you select the Logical Printer description "AFP/IPDS (PSF) using TCP/IP (5001).
In the "Printer" tab you set "PCL Bin ID" to "4" in "Standard Output tray" and then you "Save Configuration". Please see example below.

Here is the PCL commands used for selecting the different Output Bin on the HP9000 printer with the HP3000 stacker.

Definition of operating modes
The HP3000 Sheet Stacker/Stabler supports two operating modes:
Job Offset and No Offset. These modes are defined as follows:
Job Offset: When configured in this mode, the stacker will offset each print job or mopy.
No Offset: When configured in this mode. the stacker will perform no offset action.
Configuration of Offset Modes
Configure the operating mode through the printer control panel.
Control Panel configuration
1. Use the menu key until CONFIGURATION OF STKR is displayed.
2. Press the item key until OFFSET ACTION is displayed.
3. Use the value key to display offset action variables: No, Yes (job offset). When the appropriate variable is displayed, press the Select key to save.
4. Press the GO key to put the printer in the ready state.
