FAQ
The PrintServer reports 'No communication with IPDS top'.
The FSL Top in the PrintServer has lost its firmware. Follow the steps below to re-install the firmware.
Part 1: Update the PrintServer firmware
- Refer to: How to update the firmware
Part 2: Load fslprog.f22
- Start PrintGuide.
- Locate and click the PrintServer in the list of detected devices.
- On the PrintServer menu, click Update Firmware.
- In the Open dialog, set Files of type to FSL TopFirmware (*.f12,*f22).
Double-click the fslprog file (fslprog.f22).
- A confirmation dialog is displayed. Click OK to download the fslprog.f22 to the PrintServer.
- Click OK when the file has been downloaded.
- Do not interfere with the PrintServer until its status says "Ready".
- The FSL top will now have firmware 140120.f22 loaded but if you need another firmware then go to Part 3.
Part 3: Load the latest FSL Top Driver
- On the PrintServer menu, click Update Firmware.
- Click Files of type, and select FSL TopFirmware (*.F12,*F22). Double-click the firmware file e.g. 144060.f22 (See FSL Top Drivers). A confirmation dialog is displayed.
- Click OK to download the firmware to the PrintServer.
- Click OK when the file has been downloaded.
- The firmware is updated. The PrintServer restarts automatically. Do not interfere with the PrintServer until it has restarted and its status says "Ready".
