How to configure peer-to-peer printing in Windows 95/98/2000/NT by lpd/lpr mode set-up

Windows 2000/NT

Note: The PC in the network must have the TCP/IP protocol installed.

1. Click Start, Settings and Printers. Double-click Add Printer.
2. Select My Computer and click Next.
3. Click Add Port.
4. Double-click LPR Port
5. In the Add lpr compatible printer dialog, enter the PrintServer's IP address and Queue name in the appropriate fields and click OK.
   You can view the PrintServer's queue names in the web page.
6. Click Close in the Printer Ports dialog.
   You can see the port you added in the Add Printer Wizard, Available Ports list.
7. Click Next in Add Printer Wizard.
8. Select/ install the appropriate printer driver.

Windows 95/98

Neither Windows 95 nor 98 supports lpd/lpr printing directly. To set up lpd/lpr spooling on your network, you must first install an lpd/lpr spooler.
