Quick Guide

CAUTION
Static electricity can damage the interface. You should either wear an antistatic wrist wrap, or frequently touch the metal surface of the printer.

Pre-installation task

1. Check the ring speed setting on pin 4 on the DIP switch no. 1 (sw1) on the back of the interface. 4 Mbps=OFF; 16 Mbps=ON.

Install interface in printer

1. Make sure no power cord is connected to the printer.
2. Locate the printer's interface slot by way of the printer's manual.
3. Loosen the screws and remove the plate covering the printer’s interface slot.
4. Insert the interface in the slot as described in the printer's manual and tighten the screws.

Network installation

1. Make sure no power cord is connected to the printer.
2. Connect network cable to the RJ45 port on the rear panel of the interface. A cable converting from RJ45 to DB9 is provided with the PrintServer. Power on the printer.
3. The complete Installation Guide will be printed.
   
   Note: If nothing is printed, please check that the printer is on-line and not in an error condition (i.e. paper out, toner low, etc.).

Generate settings printout

1. Press the TEST button on the back of the PrintServer.
