Configuration methods

Configure TCP/IP

The TCP/IP network protocol can be configured using any of the following methods:

  • PrintGuide

  • Use DLC protocol to discover the PrintServer. Identify the PrintServer by the MAC address you recorded during the installation. Upload the configuration from the PrintServer. Enable TCP/IP and specify the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. Download the configuration and restart the PrintServer. Refer to Getting Started with PrintGuide™.

  • BOOTP
  • Add an entry in the BOOTP server's database that defines the PrintServer's IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.

  • DHCP
  • Set up the DHCP server so it can assign a valid IP address and subnet mask to the PrintServer.

  • ARP
  • You can use the arp command to assign the PrintServer an IP address.

  • Printer's Control Panel
