How to configure via a web browser

Requires that the TCP/IP protocol is configured and that an IP address has been assigned.

1. Enter the IP address in the browser's location or address field. For example 192.135.7.29.

Security

Note: This section applies to PrintServers with software level S80 xxx.470 or higher.

To enable security and prevent unauthorized users from accessing secure pages the PrintServer's password must be changed to something different than the default adm and blank (empty).

When security is enabled the web browser prompts for a user name (always adm) and a password.

• HTML requests for secure pages (/htmls) from a user, that has not been authenticated, will result in an HTTP return code "401 unauthorized".
• Users will be cached, allowing an already authorized user to continue loading secure pages.
• Users that log off will have their credential cleared immediately.
• Idle users that do not log off, will automatically be logged off after 10 min.
