Quick Guide

Installation

1. Make sure no power cord is connected to the PrintServer.
2. Connect the network cable to the RJ45 port on the rear panel of the PrintServer. A cable converting from RJ45 to DB9 is provided with the PrintServer.
3. Adjust the red CONFIG switch on the rear panel of the PrintServer to match the Token Ring Speed:
   • 4 - Token Ring Speed 4 Mbps.
   • 16 - Token Ring Speed 16 Mbps.
4. The PrintServer is equipped with two Centronics parallel ports: PAR1 and PAR2, and an RS232 serial port: COM1. You should connect the printer to PAR1.
5. Power on the printer.
6. Connect power supply, turning on the PrintServer. The green LEDs on the PrintServer front will blink during the power on and self-test cycle.
7. The complete Installation Guide will be printed on the printer connected to PAR1.

Generate Settings Printout

1. Make sure both PrintServer and printer is powered on.
2. Generate a settings printout by pressing the TEST key once on the PrintServer's rear panel. The test page(s) shows the internal settings of the PrintServer. The page(s) are printed on the printer connected to PAR1.
