With a Token Ring device the LAN LED is blinking very rapidly and it looks like the device is not properly connected to the ring. I use exactly the same UTP drop cable that I was using with the previous device. Why is that?

The speed is not set to the proper Token Ring speed (4 MBit or 16 Mbit) of the network infrastructure.
