Why can't I update the PrintServer firmware from PrintGuide™?

If you are using PrintGuide™ version S42 065.150 or earlier on Windows 2000, you might experience problems if the extracted firmware file you are trying to send to the PrintServer has extension *.B80 (uppercase B). Note that this is not a problem for PrintGuide™ on other versions of Windows.

No error message is displayed if the firmware update fails, but the firmware version number displayed in PrintGuide™ remains unchanged.

After you select PrintServer, Update Firmware, you can simply rename the extracted firmware file so that its extension changes from *.B80 to *.b80. Just right click on it in the list, select Properties and rename.
