How to discover and configure the PrintServer via HP's Web JetAdmin

Note: PrintServers without a previously configured IP address can be discovered in Web JetAdmin via IPX and subsequently configured with an IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.

1. Start Web JetAdmin.
2. Click Web JetAdmin Settings. The Web JetAdmin Global Settings page appears.
3. Click Discovery Settings.
4. In the Discovery Mechanisms sections, check Local Broadcast and click Configure. The Discovery Configuration (Local Broadcast) page appears.
5. Check Allow IPX broadcasts (SNMP).
6. Click Discovery Settings. Scroll down to Clear Database and click Clear.
7. Click Discovery Settings. Scroll down to Start New Discovery and click start.
8. Click Find Device. The Find Device page appears.
9. Specify Search Type and Search Criteria.
   (Search Type could be 'IPX Name' and Criteria could be 'IDA').
10. Click Search Now to begin the search of the discovery database.
11. Click on the discovered device. This takes you to the device's Properties page.
12. Click Config. On the Configuration page you can configure the IP address, Subnet Mask, and gateway address to allow TCP/IP communication.
