Bluetooth is a wireless standard specification for short-range communication between various devices such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's), laptop PC's, cellular phones and similar. The standard provides the basis for a number of wireless applications, including wireless printing, directly from a cellular phone, PDA, laptop, or similar.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (www.bluetooth.com) currently includes some of the worlds leading technology companies, including Nokia, Ericsson, Intel, Toshiba, Microsoft, and others. The wireless data market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, as millions of people worldwide access the Internet via their cellular phone or PDA.
