New product: Spool2Print

Spool2Print is a software product which runs on the Windows platform and is designed for the management of day-to-day print jobs. Spool2Print receives AFPDS data streams and then allows the jobs to be printed and if required retained for re-printing either partially or totally at a later time. The product has been designed to be managed either locally or remotely.

Spool2Print supports AFPDS MODCA-P type data streams which can be generated via the IBM MVS APKACIF facility on the mainframe or by an AFP composer. Spool2Print can receive this data directly from the system via MVS Download or can be retrieved by the software from a “Hot folder” located on the workstation hard disk. The AFP resources can be either in-line (included in the data stream) or managed externally by Spool2Print.

Once the AFPDS data have been received, Spool2Print allows easy management of the print jobs using an intuitive graphical interface. The jobs can be duplicated, printed, released, re-routed or retained for partial or total re-print.

As well as providing enhanced job management utilities, Spool2Print is also the ideal solution for addressing IPDS printers. Moreover, used with the MPI Tech Blue Server, you can print your AFPDS documents on any LAN-attached printer supporting PCL and/or PostScript data streams. A facility is also provided to convert AFPDS data streams into PDF or TIFF files for Email, archiving or faxing.
