1. Types of registration used
MPI Tech makes 2 types of registrations on its websites.
- Registration via webform
- Registration via cookies
1.1 Registration via webform
In order to download a free trial the user has to register. Information such as Company Name, Contact Person and E-mail address are mandatory. The data are stored on a secure database on an MPI Tech server and only employees from the MPI Tech Group have access to the database. Information provided with the registration will in some cases be distributed but only to MPI Tech authorised dealers for the supply and support of the product being tested.

2. What is a cookie
A cookie is used for a website to send information to a user's browser and for the browser to return the information to the original site. The stated information can be used for authentication, identification of a user session, user's preferences, shopping cart contents, or anything else that can be accomplished through storing text data. The cookie allows the website site to recognize your computer and is often used to improve usability. Cookies are not software. They cannot be programmed, cannot carry viruses and cannot install malware on the host computer.
MPI Tech uses two types of cookies on its websites.
2.1 Session Cookies
A session cookie only lasts for the duration of the user using the website and expires after each session, i.e. when you close your tab or browser. A session cookie is not stored on your computer's hard drive but cached (stored in memory) while you are visiting the website and is deleted from your cache when you leave the website.
MPI Tech uses session cookies on its websites to collect information about our visitor’s browser version, screen size, OS etc. The data are used to improve usability.
2.2 Persistent Cookies
A persistent cookie will outlast a user session. Persistent cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire or until you delete them. MPI Tech uses persistent cookies on its websites to collect information about where our visitor’s comes from (search engines, direct traffic, referring sites) if they are a new or returning visitor, what pages they browse the most etc. The data are used to improve usability.
3. How data are stored
Data are stored in two different ways.
3.1 Log Database
MPI Tech uses a log database to collect data about our website traffic. The data are stored on a secure MPI Tech server and deleted after 90 days. Only employees within the MPI Tech Group have access to this information. The log database is using a session cookie to collect this data
3.2 Google Analytics
MPI Tech uses Google Analytics to collect data about our website traffic. The data are stored on a Google server. Google Analytics may disclose information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process the information on Google Analytics' behalf. Google Analytics uses two types of cookies, session cookies and persistent cookies.

MPI Tech uses a secure protocol for all pages on its websites. This means that data sent back and forth between you as a user and the server are sent securely, that is in encrypted form.
