PDFs to personal electronic vaults
This large local government data centre based in Copenhagen is expanding its business into the private market by providing an e-boks application to large enterprises.
e-boks is an electronic mailbox for internet use, but still mainframe based. Instead of mailing their customers, enterprises can forward their data to KMD, who converts the AFP print data into PDF.
KMD had been using Print SubSystem (PSS) from the MPI Tech Mainframe Output Suite for distributed host printing for several years, so the addition of the PDF module was a simple and efficient way of adding internet capability to the host system.
The enterprises save mailing costs, KMD pioneers into a new business area and MPI Tech mainframe software solution PSS forms the heart of this internet application by converting the AFP to PDF.
